Imani Razat is a designer, illustrator, and creative consultant born in Brooklyn. Having grown up in New York City and traveling internationally as a model, she studied Fine Art and Art History at Sarah Lawrence College and in Florence, Italy. Her work is inspired by the lifestyle of global city culture—the people, places, food, style, and design objects that celebrate life.
She incorporates these inspirations into her designs, which are smart, whimsical, and playful, while experimenting with mediums such as watercolor, paint markers, and digital illustration.
Imani co-founded the NYC-based studio Spye Design in 2007, where she collaborated on the design of several celebrated lifestyle products. Her art, illustration, and graphic design work includes exhibitions in New York City such as Internet Yami-ichi and No Longer Empty, and participation in Artists in Embassies in Libreville, Gabon. She was also represented by the Tatiana Pagès Gallery in Harlem. Clients include Random House/Potter Style and Bath & Body Works. She is available for creative collaborations, illustration, product design, and creative consulting.
